Irish rap trio KNEECAP, one of today's most exciting and important artists, released their debut album, Fine Art, in June 2024 on Heavenly Recordings. Produced by Toddla T, the 12-track album seamlessly blends Irish and English, satirical and socially conscious lyrics. It's fiercely intelligent, consistently buoyant and raucous, and genuinely thought-provoking. It's a cry from a far-flung corner of northern Ireland, speaking in a language that's all too often ignored.
The album garnered critical acclaim, with Hot Press (#2), The Skinny (#4), The Sunday Times (#5), and The Telegraph (#10) naming it one of the best albums of the year. Their performance at Coachella in 2025 also generated significant buzz.
Meanwhile, KNEECAP's semi-autobiographical film, KNEECAP, has also been released. In its home country of Ireland, it was a huge hit, with the highest opening week attendance of any Irish-language film in history.
It also won the Audience Award (NEXT category) at the 40th Sundance Film Festival and was shortlisted as Ireland's entry for the 97th Academy Awards® for Best International Feature Film, earning 25 awards and 63 nominations. The film will also be released in Japan starting in August 2025.
