Pelican State is the one man project of Constant van Graan, who is originally from Namibia, but currently resides in the vibrant university town of Potchefstroom, South Africa. His music is a fresh blend of alternative soft rock and ambient sounds. He released his debut album - Imaginary Stones - in 2015 and he co-wrote the Afrikaans song 'My Tyd Staan Stil' which is the theme song of KykNET - one of South Africa's biggest television channels. He often performs at music festivals across South Africa, and toured Ireland in 2018. The name 'Pelican State' is a tribute to Louisiana, where milk is the official drink. Constant has never been to Louisiana, and he is lactose intolerant.
