pudelhunds is German for poodle hounds and consists of three of the nicest, most polite university students you’ll ever meet.

Hailing from Fukuoka, Japan, this 3-piece play a beautifully clean style of math-rock/emo with some tasteful screaming and moments of ear-melting chaos to scare the pit bulls and dobermans away.  The cabs seem like an obvious influence but Souta and Daichi both claim Tiny Moving Parts and People in the Box as most influential and Yuji’s all-time fave is the band apart (hell yeah!).  

Yuji’s ability to sing with raw emotion while laying down otherworldly bass lines is top tier, while Souta attacks the guitar with such intensity his glasses rarely survive the full set.  Behind them, Daichi casually delivers a drumming masterclass, evoking a young Kashikura (toe).  

Despite just one self-released EP, a single, and no music videos, pudelhunds recently signed with Oaiko joining labelmates yureruwayurei and hitohira.  Showing more talent at such a young age than most veteran bands, their potential is frightening, if the band name isn’t.
