Tazio Iacobacci is a Sicilian composer and musician active in the fields of experimental, ambient, and electroacoustic music. Over the course of his career, he has explored a wide range of sonic approaches, moving from raw noise performances to refined sound design based on modular synthesis and field recording.
He began his musical journey in the early 1990s as a drummer in several noise bands, quickly developing an interest in unconventional sound textures and improvisation. During this period, he also started creating music, gradually expanding his practice beyond performance into sound experimentation and composition.
In the early 2000s, Iacobacci co-founded the band Tellaro, a slowcore project associated with the German label 2nd Records, releasing several albums. At the same time, he worked on other musical projects such as Feldmann and Pola, and collaborated as a drummer, guitarist, and electronic programmer in various productions.
The GLINCA Project
His latest project is called “Glinca,” through which he focuses on ambient and experimental electronic music, electroacoustic composition, field recording, sound manipulation, and modular synthesizer-based production.
Glinca represents a shift toward a more introspective and material approach, in which sound is treated as a spatial and perceptual experience rather than as a traditional musical structure.
His compositions often combine everyday environmental sounds—such as footsteps, voices, and urban noise—with synthetic textures, creating immersive sound environments that blur the boundary between reality and abstraction.
Rather than constructing linear compositions, his works often function as “sound environments” or open spaces for perception and reflection.
In live performances with Glinca, he presents a set that blends ambient, noise, and electronic elements. For example, in 2025 he performed at Zō Centro Culture Contemporanee in Catania, taking part in live experimental music events.
Tazio Iacobacci belongs to a generation of experimental composers who merge analog and digital practices. Through Glinca, he has developed a personal sonic language based on exploration, abstraction, and attentive listening, placing himself within the broader landscape of contemporary ambient and electroacoustic music.

Hello everyone, my name is Tazio Iacobacci and my project is called Glinca.
Two days ago, my latest album Frame Fantastico was released in a limited edition of 30 hand-numbered copies. This time I decided to do everything by myself — printing, cover artwork, and so on — and the release also includes 8 prints of my digitally manipulated photographs, printed on 300gsm hammered paper.
It was really rewarding to do everything independently.
For anyone interested in listening to it and/or buying it, you can find it on Glinca Bandcamp
