Chappo (pronounced "shappo") is a Japanese instrumental band formed in 2019.

The members are Oto Fukuhara (Gt, etc.) and Yuta Hosono (Ba, etc.), both born in 2000.

After forming, they diligently practiced, created demos, and produced music for films. Due to their inherently lazy nature, they spent a long time underground, but began to surface in the spring of 2023, and started live performances in October. One of them sometimes sings during live shows. Then, on December 13, 2023, they released their first single, "Fukidashi," as a 7-inch vinyl and digital release from Kakubarhythm. While rooted in 1940s popular music and film scores, they incorporate various elements beyond music into their own unique style with a strange sensibility. A duo forging ahead on an unpredictable and unusual journey.
