Formed in 2015 by core members miraco and Yusei, Yuragi is a Japanese band known for their dreamy, nostalgic, and emotionally rich sound. The band self-released their debut single bedside in March 2016, followed by their first EP nightlife EP in December of the same year.
In August 2018, they released their first nationally distributed EP Still Dreaming, Still Deafening via FLAKE SOUNDS. The music video for the track “Unreachable” was directed by Pennacky and helped introduce their sound to a wider audience.
In February 2019, Yuragi hosted their first self-organized event, Wearing The Inside Out, featuring guest acts Hitsujibungaku and No Buses. That summer, they performed at FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL’19 on the ROOKIE A GO-GO stage. In December, they released their first remix album Still Dreaming, Still Deafening Remixes & Rarities, featuring remixes by 9:en, Kntr, singular balance, Big Animal Theory, and Kogane, a member of Ryan Hemsworth’s label Secret Songs (Canada).
In June 2021, Yuragi released their long-awaited first full-length album For you, Adroit it but soft on FLAKE SOUNDS. To celebrate the release, they held their first headlining shows in Tokyo (WWW), Nagoya (stiffslack), and Osaka (JANUS), all of which sold out. The Osaka show was a special two-man set with んoon, held as part of FLAKE RECORDS’ 15th anniversary event.
Later that year, they released the stems of the album for free and held an open call for remixes and reworks. In January 2022, they released For you, Adroit it but soft: Remixes & Rarities, featuring 10 artists from Japan and abroad including Slow Magic and Ryan Hemsworth. Mastering was handled by Masafumi Gotoh (ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION).
In April 2023, Yuragi released their second full-length album Here I Stand (FLAKE SOUNDS), followed by headlining release shows in Tokyo (WWW), Nagoya (CLUB UPSET), Osaka (JANUS), and Taipei, Taiwan (The Wall).
In July 2024, they played a sold-out show in South Korea.
Most recently, in January 2025, they released their third full-length album In Your Languages via FLAKE SOUNDS. The accompanying release tour included stops in Tokyo (WWW), Nagoya (Shangri-La), Osaka (ANIMA), and Hong Kong (Mom Livehouse).
Yuragi has also shared the stage with a wide range of international acts including Japanese Breakfast, Turnover, Nothing, Superheaven, and I Mean Us. With a growing presence in both domestic and international scenes, they continue to expand their uniquely immersive sound to listeners around the world.
