BIO

Joni Sandez is a Latin singer-songwriter and performer, recognized for his dynamic stage presence and ability to connect with audiences through heartfelt storytelling. As the lead vocalist of Joni Sandez y su Grupo Norteño, a five-member band, he brings an authentic and energetic approach to regional Mexican music while also exploring elements of Latin pop and acoustic ballads.

His musical journey began in 2008, performing with various groups until 2016—an experience he credits with refining his craft and shaping his distinctive sound. Deeply influenced by the golden era of grupera music from the ’80s, he grew up surrounded by timeless melodies that now inspire his own compositions.

Joni has gained recognition not only for his powerful live performances but also through viral moments on TikTok, where his cumbia rendition of “Muévete Luz Verde” (inspired by Squid Game) captivated audiences. He also showcased his versatility with a cumbia cover of “Sex on Fire” by Kings of Leon, blending rock with Latin rhythms in a way that resonated with fans.

Based in the Inland Empire, he spends his days balancing his passion for music with fatherhood. At 32 years old, he carries a youthful energy, a relentless drive, and a deep appreciation for the power of music to bring people together.
