BIO

A singer-songwriter with a gift for emotionally compelling storytelling, Martin Leroux transforms the stories of his unique multicultural upbringing into deeply relatable folk-pop gems.  The Tokyo-based artist made his debut with the ‘Parks and Cafeteria’ EP in 2010, and has maintained a steady presence in the Japanese music scene ever since.  With his latest releases, he is introducing a new generation of fans to his most touching songs to date.

A self-described “Third Culture Kid,” Martin grew up in Japan as a child to French and Filipino parents.  Fittingly, his songs often explore the search for connection, self-acceptance, and belonging.  And while he is clearly inspired by the classic singer-songwriters such as Tracy Chapman, James Taylor, and Joni Mitchell, Martin writes and sings with a distinctly modern voice.

“My goal with music is to leave something behind that makes the world just a little bit better,” he explains.  “I hope what I write can help others heal, the same way my favorite songs have helped me.”
