BIO

Roots reggae with an artist messenger of hope! A native of Port-au-Prince, Jah Nissi was not born in luxury. He understands the pain and the vicissitudes of life. Influenced by the reggae of Bob Marley, Alpha Blondy, Tiken Jah Fakoly, Morgan Heritage, Boukman Eksperyans Eddy Francis and Nasio Fontaine, when he became a musician he commited to lead a life of struggle, to advocate reconciliation. After leaving Haiti in 1996, lived in Venezuela and the United States, he moved to Canada in 2009. He sings the misery of his people of Haiti, the despair of a great nation. In his music, there is hope, we can dream of a better tomorrow. Living in Ontario, he is working on his image, his goals, his identity. In 2013, Jah Nissi realized his dream, his first album, “L’Union”.
