Men of Mad’ness is a digital‑era rock collective born on Independence Day 2025, rising from the creative DNA of two Bay Area cult favorites — Patrick Lew Band (PLB) and Crazy Loser in a Box. Founded by prolific Chinese‑Japanese punk rock musician and YouTuber Patrick Lew, the band unites a unique lineup: Patrick’s virtual alter‑ego Madeline Lew, Vietnamese alt‑rock vocalist Madoku Raye, and Silicon Valley‑based electronic artist and frontman Sebastian “Seabass” Morningstar.
Fueled by a shared love of all things rock, Men of Mad’ness blends emo, grunge, shoegaze, J‑rock, nu‑metal, and electronic textures into a sound that’s both nostalgic and forward‑thinking. Their music channels the raw urgency of the ’90s and 2000s alternative scene while embracing the diversity, experimentation, and digital connectivity of the modern era.
Unlike traditional touring acts, Men of Mad’ness is an exclusively studio‑based band, collaborating entirely online from different corners of the San Francisco Bay Area. Every track is crafted in the digital space — no bar gigs, no club circuits — just pure, unfiltered creativity delivered straight to the listener.
Influences span continents and genres: Nirvana, The Pretty Reckless, Oasis, Green Day, Pearl Jam, X Japan, Miyavi, BTS, Jaurim, Alice In Chains, Blink‑182, Beyond, Florence & The Machine, Lady Gaga, The White Stripes, and Skrillex. This eclectic palette fuels songs that are angsty yet empowering, experimental yet grounded in rock & roll tradition.

Breaking News Developments.
The Patrick Lew Band is rebranding into a whole another rock band. A virtual rock band and exclusively digital and cloud-based only on the Internet.
I’ve been in talks with both Madoku, Madeline, and our latest member in the band Seabass (vocalist and synth player) about the rebranding. And huge overhaul and merger of my 2 previous bands: PLB itself and Crazy Loser in a Box.
The possible new name for the rebranded PLB is The Mad’ness. “Mad” for Madeline and Madoku. And “Madness” because it reflects our sound and digital personas on social-media, in the current state of the world we live in during the second half of 2025.
The musical style, is pretty much gritty and hella brooding, but kick ass too.
I think all of us in the band were definitely inspired by 90’s and 2000s rock related stuff growing up, like Seattle grunge and emo stuff. We got an idea where this is kind of heading too.
I will still continue my solo music endeavors under the name Lewnatic, of course. Think of The Mad’ness as PLB Version 3.0 for sure!
As far as I know, Lost in the Meta perhaps maybe is the final release and final CD I make under the Patrick Lew Band banner. I honestly wanted to do that. No joke. I intended a rebranding and huge overhaul. Stick around everyone!
